Hi everyone. On today's episode, we are going to review an IP camera from ICSee. This camera is a 1080p Wi-Fi security camera. It is an outdoor camera, and it is also a PTZ camera, which means it can pan, tilt, and zoom.
Let's open the box and see what is inside.
The first thing in the box is the setup guide. Next, we have the power adapter, wall anchors, screws for mounting, what looks like a wire cover, and the camera itself.
The camera is not too heavy. It feels pretty lightweight, and it is all one piece. There are two connections on the camera: a power connection and an Ethernet connection for a wired setup if you are not going to use wireless.
For this review, we are going to use the wireless setup.
The first decision is where to install the camera. We have done a lot of camera reviews in the past, and we currently have eight cameras outside the house and three cameras inside the house.
My thought was to install this camera in the garage because we get a strong signal from our Wi-Fi router in that area. This setup should work well.
For this installation, I am going to mount the camera to a 2x4. The camera came with four screws, but we are going to use two screws to install it to the wood. With two screws, it feels very solid.
On the back of the 2x4, I am going to install two more screws so we can hang it onto the shelves in the garage. This allows me to move the camera to different areas of the garage. If I mounted it directly to the wall, the camera would not be easy to move.
This Wi-Fi IP camera requires an outlet, so plug the power adapter into the camera and then into a power outlet.
Next, download the ICSee app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Then, set up a username and password. Go to Add Wi-Fi Device and follow the instructions to connect the camera to your router.
The camera will give you a voice prompt to let you know it is connected. That is it. The setup is pretty easy.
As mentioned earlier, this camera is a Wi-Fi camera, but it also has an Ethernet connection for direct connectivity to an NVR system.
This is a really nice feature because it gives you two setup options: wireless or wired. The more options you have, the better.
This camera automatically integrates with the NVR system. No setup is necessary. It connects on its own.
My favorite features are the pan, tilt, and zoom controls, along with motion detection.

The automatic detection feature can detect movement, and the camera can follow the motion. However, I found this feature was not as consistent as I wanted it to be. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it did not.
The ICSee app includes several settings for motion detection, and I played around with them quite a bit. I still have not dialed it in perfectly. This camera may work better outside than it does in my garage.

After having this camera for a couple of weeks, I do really like it. I may move it outside eventually, but right now we will keep it in the garage.
