on today's episode we're going to take a
look at sound amplification equipment
from shiddu
this is the sd m900 model
let's open the box and take a look
inside before we unbox the sdm 900
let's take a brief look at the packaging
as you can see this box has plenty of
chinese and english writing on it
so i would say that this product is
being promoted to both chinese and
american consumers and this product is
made in china so keep this in mind
if you're concerned about where products
are manufactured and one more thing to
look at
is the ipx6 waterproof rating
this ipx rating describes the level
protection against water ingress
in simple terms it describes the
waterproofness or water resistance of a
device
the ipx mark is followed by a number
zero through eight
the zero means no protection and eight
is fully waterproof and submersible in
up to nine feet of water
so with a rating of six the sdm 900
should be able to handle quite a bit of
water
and we will test this rating later on so
make sure to watch until the end of this
video
to find out if the sdm 900 is really
waterproof
and you might be surprised so let's open
the box
and see what's inside
so what's included with this package
first you get the main speaker

the speaker is well built and rugged and
i do like this green
looks nice
and this is the dc 9 volt charger
and this is the wired microphone
and this is the adjustable strap
and it also comes with an auxiliary
cable
and lastly the user manual

and this manual is pretty thorough also
included is a one-year warranty
the packaging itself is nice the packing
material is very thick
so rest assured when you order this from
amazon or from the website
when it's delivered it should be in good
shape
so this is everything you get with the
sdm
900 and make sure to fully charge your
speaker before you use it
so let's take a look at the speaker
features
once again it's very rugged it's thick
it's durable
it feels solid

so the middle button is the power play
and pause button
[Music]
press and hold for three seconds to turn
it on
bluetooth is waiting for a connection
this is the mode button
to turn off the speaker press and hold
the middle button for three seconds
[Music]
this button is the previous and volume
down and this button is the next and
volume up
this is the recording button
this is the micro sd slot tf and usb
port this is the dc 9 volt charging port
this is the microphone jack
and the auxiliary input
go ahead and attach the strap to the
speaker
now let's go ahead and attach the
microphone to the speaker
and we're all set up let's go ahead and
test out the speaker
okay this is our first test and it
sounds good
if you hope you can hear me uh the
headphones are comfortable they're not
adjustable
i kind of wish they were now i have a
big head so it'd be nice to have that as
adjustable
um you plug it over this on either side
depending on how comfortable you are
make sure the microphone is close to
your mouth otherwise it isn't picking up
at all
see so make sure it's close to your
mouth you're almost touching your mouth
that would be uh ideal and um the
speaker itself is not heavy so i don't
feel any pressure on my neck
you can wear this on your shoulder this
is ideal for teachers
or tour guides maybe in a conference
room so people can hear you
so yeah and also this also has a power
bank which is nice so
you can plug in a phone and charge it
pretty cool or any device pretty much
and on the side here also micro sd card
and usb flash drive
so you can record your voice which is
really cool um
yeah it's got a lot of great features
like to mention it's a bluetooth speaker
so you can listen to your music on here
as well
it's got a nice speaker here you know
it's pretty cool
also i do like these clip rings here for
the
holders here they're really rugged so
they're not going to break so
you can be walking around me rest
assured this is not going to break
they're really good okay you can also
wear it like this around your shoulder
and it's actually more comfortable this
way i feel like it's less pressure on
the neck and so
it's a more uh balanced i like it this
way
and uh yeah feels good so multiple ways
you can actually wear this
now let's test it out with playing some
music over the bluetooth

and it sounds great
sometimes it's not enough just to love
[Music]
and sometimes it's over
so the big question here is is it
waterproof
we're gonna find out so i'm gonna set up
a water test in my front driveway
my plan is to get a water hose and turn
it on high and just douse the speaker
with water
i'm going to cover this speaker with
water for about 30 seconds
get it really good and soaked
as you can see the speaker is soaking
wet
okay we're done
so i'm gonna let this speaker dry in my
garage for about an hour or two
until it's fully dry
then we'll test it out and see if it
works
as you can see it's still pretty wet
well the speaker's dried off let's go
ahead and test it out and see if it's
actually waterproof
ready remember hold that middle button
down for three seconds to power on
[Music]
bluetooth and that's a good sign
bluetooth
is connected now let's test it out with
playing some music over the bluetooth
okay let's go ahead and test out the
speaker and make sure that it's not
damaged from the water
[Laughter]

and it sounds great it's not damaged
from the water at all
so it looks like the ipx6 rating is
correct
the speaker is waterproof and that's a
great feature
so what i like about the sdm 900 is its
versatility
the sdn 900 can act as a microphone
amplification speaker
a bluetooth speaker a charging station
and a recording device
for my needs i will use it for playing
music via bluetooth and charging my usb
devices like my phone or tablet i do not
have the need for the microphone
but the other features are fantastic
this product is ideal for camping or
even hiking
and the fact that it has an ipx
waterproof rating of 6
means the pool or beach is the perfect
place to use the speaker
while this speaker does not have stereo
sound it does have plenty of features to
make it a good
sound machine for many different
situations
if you're a tour guide a teacher or a
public speaker

voice amplification
