Router Installation Guide

  1. Unbox the router and ensure all components are included.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the router and turn it on.
  3. Plug an Ethernet cable from your modem into the WAN port of the router.
  4. Connect additional Ethernet cables from the LAN ports to network switches or wired devices.
  5. Check for LED indicator lights to confirm connectivity.

Mounting the Router

Instead of wall-mounting, we installed the router inside a network panel using zip ties. This keeps the setup tidy and maximizes space. We also replaced long cables with custom Cat6 patch cables to improve organization.

Router Configuration

Once the router is installed:

  1. Log into the router by typing 192.168.1.1 in a web browser.
  2. Use the default admin credentials (found on the back of the router) to sign in.
  3. Follow the Linksys setup wizard to name SSIDs and set passwords.
  4. Customize network settings, enable WPA3 security, and update firmware.

Performance & Speed Test

After setup, we conducted a speed test with our 1Gbps fiber internet from CenturyLink. The router delivered 940 Mbps download and upload speeds, proving its efficiency for gaming and streaming.
