so in the last decade or so fiber optic
cabling
has been replacing copper at a steady
pace
so this brings up an important question
why is fiber optics so popular now
well to answer that question i'm going
to give you my top six reasons
why fiber is better than copper first
and foremost
is speed fiber optic networks operate at
high speeds
up into the high gigabits next is
bandwidth
fiber optic networks have a large
carrying capacity
next is distance fiber optic signals can
be transmitted further
without needing to be refreshed or
strengthened
next is resistance fiber optic networks
have a greater resistance to
electromagnetic noise
such as radios or motors or other nearby
cables
next is maintenance fiber optic cables

much less to maintain than copper and

it's more secure it is way more

the only downside to fiber is it's not
available in every area
at least not yet but with the current
trend of fiber replacing copper

70 dollars
